Lane Browning is an essayist, writing coach, business owner, advocate, pianist, chanteuse, quotidian comic, interviewer, reporter, satirist, counselor, activist, inveterate (not invertebrate) researcher, and jock. A nationally syndicated Willamette Week columnist for six years, she has also published in The Oregonian, The Portland Tribune, The Miami Herald, The Los Angeles Times, Cosmopolitan, Reader's Digest, and other periodicals. She has taught for the Oregon Writers Workshop, Multnomah County, and Mountain Writers Center. She regularly delivers public readings in the Portland OR area. She contributed a Black Lamb column called Don’t Ask and now participates on a freelance basis.
