Black Lamb


Now in its 14th year of publication, this magazine was created to offer the discerning reader a stimulating selection of excellent original writing. Black Lamb Review is a literate rather than a literary publication. Regular columns by writers in a variety of geographic locations and vocations are supplemented by features, reviews, articles on books and authors, and a selection of “departments,” including an acerbic advice column and a lamb recipe.

Lane Browning is an essayist, writing coach, business owner, advocate, pianist, chanteuse, quotidian comic, interviewer, reporter, satirist, counselor, activist, inveterate (not invertebrate) researcher, and jock. A nationally syndicated Willamette Week columnist for six years, she has also published in The Oregonian, The Portland Tribune, The Miami Herald, The Los Angeles Times, Cosmopolitan, Reader’s Digest, and other periodicals. She has taught for the Oregon Writers Workshop, Multnomah County, and Mountain Writers Center. She regularly delivers public readings in the Portland OR area. She contributed a Black Lamb column called Don’t Ask and now participates on a freelance basis.
